Eligibility Requirements
In order to be eligible for the Upward Bound Program, students must meet at least 1 of 2 requirements below.
The student must:
be from a family in which neither parent holds a bachelors degree
and/or
come from a modest income* family.
* Income eligibility is determined based upon size of family and taxable income. At least 2/3 of accepted students must meet both requirements.
Application Process
Students are typically recruited during the spring of their freshman year, however, some students have the option to join the Upward Bound program during their sophomore and junior years as well.

Following completion of the paper application, students will be asked to conduct an interview with Upward Bound staff members. This interview is then followed by a parent interview, before a final decision is made.
